Resources: NCEA

The following are some NCEA-related resources and websites to support acceleration through alignment and spread. This is not seen as an exhaustive list but rather something to help get you started.

Pathways to Level 1 Literacy

The following powerpoint (with detailed information in the Notes section) provides information on the two pathways for attaining NCEA Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy, a prerequisite for NCEA Level 2 and 3. Information from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority on the requirements for schools offering the Unit Standards is included.

The powerpoint concludes with the challenges for schools in managing the collection of evidence of achievement in the Unit Standards when it becomes clear students will not gain literacy through their Achievement Standards programme.
